Don't expect more non-Smash Bro appearances. This'll be the only physical appearance of a character who is not in Brawl (it's Mike Jones, from StarTropics). I can't imagine a guest appearance that would have been more appropriate for this situation, given Mike's position in the world of Nintendo... one of the very few first-party Nintendo franchises with no more mention in Brawl than a listing in the Chronicle.

For the purposes of the comic, he should know about Super Smash Bros., like Snake did in Brawl's first trailer. He would know some or most of the characters, and would be the perfect chance for them to escape--IF ONLY he weren't so out-of-the-loop. But I guess if he were playable he'd be on the island with the rest, and none of them have realized that half of them can teleport, fly or summon all-purpose vehicles.
