I don't care what anyone says, there's no way that Brendan's wearing a hat of any sort. And I've always hated his clothes so I made something up. Simplicity is okay.

Here I was going to put two paragraphs explaining how the first and second panels are pertinent to the more serious player's method of raising Pokémon, but I looked at them and thought "Even I wouldn't want to read all that." In a nutshell, the nature of a Pokémon and the Pokémon it fights are very influential on its stats.

I rather doubt that's how it would work in real life, but if it did it would be a much more depressing process than in the game.
